Making things brighter

It is always midnight at New Desperation Isle and we make heavy use of local lighting for dramatic effect. If things appear too dark on your screen, please try the following:

1. Go to Edit > Preferences and click the Adv. Graphics tab.
2. Increase the Nighttime Brightness setting to 3.0 or higher.
3. Click the Graphics Detail tab.
4. Next to Lighting Detail, select Nearby local lights.
5. Click OK.

If that doesn't seem to work for you, this always works:

1. Go to World > Force Sun > Sunset.

Improving Second Life perfomance

Although the "server performance" of New Desperation Isle is excellent, visitors with older computers or slower Internet connections might experience some "lag" or performance problems in the island's dense and varied environment.
